So this is what i pretty much get up too over winter. Work and Trail ride mostly. But soon im off to the shores of Canada to continue my efforts at becoming a professional trail builder. Let the even better times roll. Yeow.

Proto Full Suss testing at Wynyard Cres FreestylePark, Queenstown.

So John Oldale (aka The Man behind ABD) had a little accident. Unfortunatley this meant he could not go on a plannned trip south to accompany a team of street and dirt bmx/mtb development riders and Abds Pro Riders Paul Langlands and Lewis Jones. He asked if I could go in his place, and after twisting my bosses rubber arms I was on my way south for my second time this year. The purpose of the trip was this video right here - http://www.pinkbike.com/video/261350/ filmed by Ryan McCrae but along the way I got abit of footage too. So enjoy mine but that link is the business end of the stick.

Ride On.

A quick edit from AKDHs Fundraiser. Goodtimes.

Some riding pics from 2012 so far. Turning out to be a ripper of a year.

Found this 40ft flat gap. Got the call from Simeon Patience that he was free to shoot. So built the gap on the sunday and we shot it on the monday. 4 runs in and id stacked it 4 times. A couple of alterations and I got it on the 5th hit. Had a nice wind coming up from behind simeon and had to pedal my arse off, but i got it and i was stoked. Hardtail hucking, good shit! Thanks to Woodhill Mountain Bike Park and Simeon Patience for the shot.

Dirt Demo at Woodhills ‘Mountain Bike Big Day Out’. Was a pretty sweet day. heaps of bikes on demo, airbag, pumptrack race. Be sure not to miss the next one.

While away with the ABD Bmx Banditos down South I was able to get a little bit more product testing in on the Full Suspension rig. Got up to Wynyard Jump Park for a chill afternoon jam. Bike was loving it. Check it out.

Last hit of the Quarry Run

This spot had been in the pipeline for over a year. The original scope day back at the end of 2010, i broke my leg. Obviously that halted any plans of riding for awhile. Then the winter came. Then we were all too busy to connect. Then my mate who I was going to be doing this build and shoot with headed south. I said to him that I was still going ahead with the plan and he said go for it. Finally everything came together and the weather co-operated. And boom we had something fresh. Enjoy.

Heres a small edit of my trip south to the Farm Jam 2012 and Gorge Road Jump Park Queenstown. Didnt film alot, was having too much fun riding my bike.

friday arvo jams after work.

This was the first ride on the Proto Full Susser. take a look at the suspension working. looks good.

Testing the ABD Prototype Full Susser. Riverhead road gap felt all good. Still feels like it wants to go bigger :-)

ABD ProtoType Short Travel Full Suss. Things are gonna get gnarly!!

ABD/SpokeMagazine Pump Track - On Your Bike Expo. good times.

2012 ABD FLOW2.0 Ridden & Tested.

Brand new ABDFlow2.0 in my hot little hands. Road tripping it with Bigfoot Adventure Crew. On route to Whakarewarewa Forest for a day of private shuttles. Equaled an epic day to put this bike through its paces. My first impression of the bike, pretty much from the point i pulled it out of the box, was that it looked like the perfect little all round bike. So i thought why not put it through its paces down the likes of BillyT, G rock, RollerCoaster, National DownHill, Jump Track and the new steep shutes of Snuffleuffagus (think thats the one).

The only riding i had done on this bike was around the car park at work. The stock build is pretty good and the bike instantly felt comfortable. I havnt ridden a jump bike with gears for a long time and it felt good to be able to open up the gears. I was pumped to be hitting the trails. The bike was very responsive. The front end lifted easily to a nice position where you could really dig in the pedal. The bike flowed and pumped through sections like i was riding a pump track. It was alot of fun popping roots and tucking into the corners. Down Jump Track was where this bike felt at home. Hitting the multitude of tables, doubles, little hits, railed turns and alternative lines, this bike could shred. It was very stable and fely very comfortable in the air. I couldnt go as fast as i wanted to at times as things would get a bit buck wild in some of the ruts, resulting in 2 crashes and a few “holys##t” moments. But in all in all i was super impressed with the over all build and riding capabilities of the Flow2.0. If you want a bike that can shred trail, be stable enough to hit dh, have the right geo to pull rad tricks at the djs and then go hit up the bmx track and waste your mates, then this is the bike.

Thanks to Bikeparks Limited for lending me the bike. Bigfoot Adventures for the awesome day and the Whakarewarewa Forest for being awesome.
